The company quickly grew from a handful of employees, to a medium-sized operation, capable of taking on projects of ever increasing scope and diversity. To continue providing a quality service to an expanding client base, Lue assembled a small team of experienced, professional builders, many of whom have become longstanding key personnel, making up the backbone of Lobell’s operations.

Today, Lue oversees the administrative functions of the company, whilst identifying and securing new work. The wealth of experience gathered during his decades in the construction industry serves as a reference point for employees and clients alike. Lue’s original approach of getting the job done on time and on budget still resonates in the company culture, and is largely responsible for the high level of repeat work and word of mouth recommendations.

Qualification

After qualifying as an indentured carpenter, and going on to achieve Advanced Trade Certificate in commercial building, Lue spent several years in various locations within New Zealand and abroad, working on large commercial projects. In 1984, he established his own building company, initially trading as Lue Shaw Builders, before it came to be known as Lobell Construction.
